| The SIM lock doesn't just apply to phones, most of those "Surf Sticks" folks have bought at Tchibo are also locked. The first two phones I bought in Germany were locked to T- Mobile and a few years ago a bunch of folks on our annual trip bought some locked phones a Vodafone. It started with one guy buying a phone because he forget his alarm clock. It was €25+ for one in a store but only €20 for a phone with €10 credit -- and an alarm clock function :) |
