OT: Cycling in Britain |

And back in my former Oregon life, there would be news reports of cyclists getting killed by cars or trucks every now and then. I used to bike around in the uni/hi-tech town of 50,000 where I lived for a year, Corvallis, which is one of the USs' bike-friendliest cities. Even there, it was more dangerous than here. We've been spoilt by biking here and could never really do it in the US again, at least not on roads. The statistics on death rate per km bicycled per country must be available to gather somehow, if one's inclined to do so. |
