| Welcome to the bizarre world of airline pricing. AMS is KLM's hub so it is almost always more expensive starting/ending there. I've often flown into DUS (thru AMS) when heading to Amsterdam because it was enough cheaper to pay for the train ticket (and a hotel on the return). And my father would often pay more to fly ATL- FRA than I would to fly LAX-ATL-FRA. It's called "hub captives." Mike's price was to MUC which is probably a better bet for a good fare -- more competition. |
