| Hi John, can't say I am familiar with the Fawlty Towers, but I will check it out and see if it compares with the Barnikels. I am trying to remain optimistic about the future of the brewery, but they are obviously in a tough spot. The brewer's wife was explaining to me how when her husband took over, the brewery was deep in debt and since then they have slowly been working their way back to even and then to have all of this happen after so many years is very deflating. However, one of their sons would like to take over the brewing and one of the daughters the Gaststätte, so it would be a shame to see them go under when the next generation (unlike with many other breweries) is ready to assume responsibility for the business. I live in Bamberg and am currently doing a PhD in Comparative Politics, but with a minor concentration in "Beer Studies" if you will! |
