Munich connection

Half-hour flights, DUB-FMM? Didn't realize they were using the Concorde on that run. Ordinary 737s and A320s need at least two hours. Thing is, Ryanair have had such eye-blinkingly cheap fares for so long, it's been all too easy to develop a sense of entitlement, but rising fuel costs are rapidly putting paid to those days. Aer Lingus and Lufthansa dominate the non-stop DUB-FRA run, and yes, their fares may be higher than Ryanair's specials, but are still not horribly expensive, and while FRA may be big and busy, the inter-modal transport connections are excellent. Regensburg has its value, but the city's brewpubs are a bit 'meh.' That "Fürstliches Brauhaus" brewpub that is the only remnant of the old Thurn & Taxis brewing concern is pretty and the tables outside are pleasant, but the beers are mostly typical modern German brewpub range, and not necessarily a draw. When I was there last year, I tried something called a "stout." It did have dark malts in, but was fermented with Bavarian wheat beer yeast, so it was one odd stout, and I probably wouldn't go back to that well for more. Regensburg's other brewpub, the former J. Albrecht place, now features wheat-beer and yet more unfiltered "helles" and "dunkles." Whatever. Meh. Kneitinger though? Sign me up. Both their in-city pub, and the affiliated Kneitingerkeller up the Galgenberg hill, are fine places for a session.
