Biogas plants a problem for the breweries?

During this beautiful sunny weekend I went visiting Fischer Bräu, Wieseth and the nice little Wirtschaft of the brewmaster at the tiny village of Kaierberg. Fischer Bräu normally uses locally grown barley only and the brewmaster complained about the difficulty of getting Feuchtwanger brewing barley now, because the farmers only grow barley for the biogas plants at the moment. They get higher prices for it and many of them run a biogas plant themself. So he's already buying malted barley from Frauenaurach now. Jürgen
