| I haven't looked through them all, so maybe there is a walk to these five places documented already. But if not, this could be a very ambitious 16+ km walk to five breweries. Starting at the Wiesenthau station (Forchheim - Ebermannstadt line), go up through the absolutely beautiful village of Wiesenthau with its Schloss and around the southern end of the Walberla to Dietzhof and Brauerei Alt (<4 km). From there, less than 2 km to Leutenbach and Br. Drummer. Then, steep uphill and a further 4 km or so to Hetzelsdorf and Br. Penning-Zessler. Steep downhill another ~3 km to Unterzaunsbach and Br. Meister. The last 4 km stretch to Pretzfeld (Br. Nikl) is gentle and quiet, and from there, 500 m or so to the station with hourly service. If those aren't enough, the two places in Ebermannstadt are just a couple of minutes away by train or 3+ km by foot. Another option is to hike up the Walberla at the start with its impressive views, ancient celt fortifications, and chapel. |
