OT: Smithwick's Pale Ale - Amarillo Hops? |

No worries Barry. The OT: preceder just lets others skip the subject by warning that it has little to do with Franconia, Germany, or even nearby locales. The people at Brewdog subscribe to the Madonna Theory of Publicity: There Is No Such Thing As Bad Publicity. They had a little dust-up with CAMRA regarding participation in the most recent GBBF, ergo the rants. There are other UK brewers not exactly on the CAMRA bandwagon as well, like Meantime, who just aren't quite as vocal or obstreperous about it. In spite of that, Brewdog is one way to get something other than the bog-standard fizz on offer in a far rural corner of Ireland, as they do mail order, and their beers are actually good. Short of getting people to just send you beer in the post, what are your other options? If you can find a way to get Thornbridge's Jaipur IPA, though, do so without delay. It's _good_, and ... oh, wait. http://www.beersofeurope.co.uk/ They deliver to Poblacht na hEireann. Please don't let J. know I mentioned this. |
