Bamberg Trip Report - the first weekend

You can see the train going by in the valley below the keller so yes it must be fairly close. It's worth a stop. Beautiful view from that keller and the beer was excellent too. But yes more on the malty side than the hoppy side for sure. Juergen was telling us that the ground where the brewing water comes from is from the Jurassaic era and so it is very chalky. I'm not sure what affect this has on the taste of the beer but I can tell you it was a very smooth liter.
