My German language skills being only suitable for a free for all round Loistl stamtisch, it's a bit difficult following this story on the various German language TV channels. So, we cobble together reports from English speaking channels via the web and try to make some sense ou of it all. There is truth in what Jimbo says about early reporting, particularly when the reports were so innaccurate, leaving to mass panic. All the German-based reporters on the English language radio stations have complained about the difficulty of getting information, probably due to multiplicity of different agencies involved. But it is obvious that this is a serious matter (the biggest E-coli outbreak in Europe) and that people have died and many have suffered quite serious illness. Although this seems to mainly concern northern lander, it is worth not taking too many chances. I have had an e-coli illness and it's not funny! Meanwhile, it's off to Brauerei Neuhaus - more later.
