| I can think of a bunch of places in smaller cities and towns, but the train line requirement is a bit of a limitation. Augsburg is nowhere near as big as Brussels, and there's some stuff to see there too. Pleasant city, fairly walkable, trams and buses to get you around if you need them. Smaller beer-friendly town on a train line? Amberg comes to mind. So does Sulzbach-Rosenberg, home to the somewhat upmarket-ish Sperber-Bräu, and the more home-style Wirtsstubn at Brauerei Fuchsbeck. Of those two (stopped at S-R on the way back to Bamberg after an Eschawo weekend!), Fuchsbeck got the raves for their Märzen. Sperber can also provide overnight accommodation. |
