The Umlaut in German |

WE seem to have had this discussion before about spoken language, so kind of regret that my ill-advised attempt at a little humour seems to have exploded in my face. I would only say that, in a multi-national forum such as this, we are trying to express ourselves often using a non-native language. Thus, in order to get on with each other (and I think that's what we're trying to do), a little tolerance is required. As for me, I really regret my lack of ability in any language other than English, which is simply a sympton of the English-speaking world's apparent indffiference to communicating in anything other than English. But I'm trying to rectify this (mainly so I can converse at stamtisch - sorry mangled Deutsche) but it gets harder as the years roll by. |
