What is Kellerbier? |

Each term has a different meaning, but as far as I know, most Kellerbier is Ungespundet. Zwickel and Ungespundet refer to a method of serving (right from the tank for Zwickel) and a method of lagering (unbunged to let out much of the CO2). Kellerbier, on the other hand, is a style designation and thus refers to the malt bill and hopping, though there is a fairly wide range. I disagree that there is "no common thread to kellerbier". I definitely know when something is not a kellerbier. |
