I first learned about growlers 15 years ago when I moved to Salt Lake City. We have surprisingly lots of Microbreweries out here (Squatters, Red Rock, Deserts Edge, Uinta, Wasatch, Bohemia) and they all do it, as well as the bars that have multiple microbrews on tap. Very popular out here. The Red Rock brewery has a good "Bamberger Rauch Bier" lager done in the Spezi style in their rotation. The bartender told me the brewmaster had spent some time there. They also started doing a smoked porter. Deserts Edge comes out with a smoked "Inversion Ale" during the winter months. Has anyone else seen American smoked beers other than the Shiner Bock Smokehaus? |
