| I recall hearing the term, though I bet it's spelled "Kerwa" in Franconia, like the Franconian for "Kirchweih", or "local/village/town festival". Where I'm from, a fish fry can happen on any given Friday, not just in Lent. And always at the VFW or Eagle's club places. And then Walleye is always the best! Dammit, now you've got me thinking of Walleye...have to make do with some Karpfen, I guess. |
