Helles Mild

I'd really like to find a pale mild on my next trip over to Greater Manchester (hopefully in Oct, maybe Nov). When I stumble across a real ale mild in a pub, I don't even consider trying anything else first. I suppose I'll have to brew a pale one me'self at home. Ron Pattinson says mild, like other beers, was much stronger a long time ago, perhaps in your granddad's days: http://barclayperkins.blogspot.com/ (Gets a bit deep for me at times.)
