I'm a bit confused about 'Bayerischer Anstich'. Having read various articles, I understand that anstich means tap. What is different from the Bayerische method of tapping a keg or barrel than that of other countries. In the UK, tapping a barrel essentially means placing the tap in the appropriating bung hole and giving ti a sharp rap with a rubber mallet. It's a skill that took me all of half-a-dozen goes to perfect! Is there some special device or technique used in Bavaria? Hope everyone enjoyed the Sandkerwa and that there are not too many sore heads this morning! |
