I thought that Seidla is the Franconian diminutive for "Seidel", which is a mug or Krug, which happens to be 1/2 liter. And there's no change in spelling for Franconian -la diminutives, just like the -chen and -lein diminutives in Hochdeutsch...Preußisch. 1 Tonne, 2 Tonnen, Meilen. Maybe feminine units of measure are the only ones where the spelling changes in the plural? Gramm & Pfund (neutral) also don't change in the plural. If I could change 1 thing about your language, it would be how plurals are formed. |
