I was lucky to get one of the early Tchibo sticks, which were not SIM Locked, so I have used it in the UK (Three), Belgium (BASE), Switzerland (Swisscom) and Germany (Tchibo and Vodafone). I often use Vodafone "Websessions" service because you can pay with a credit card. It's more expensive than Tchibo (€4.95/day €9.95/wk) but since I can sign up with a credit card I don't have to find a Tchibo to top up first (though I am told regular O2 topups work as well). Jimbo, there do exist devices where you plug your internet stick in and it connects and then makes a WiFi hotspot -- so you can use your iPhone or share your connection. For voice service, I use Solomo -- they have good subscriber to subscriber rates and cheap calls back to the states. They use the E-Plus network so their data service isn't too great. |
