Trains, buses, and Annafest

Okay, the pdf shows that the bus starts at the deutsche Haus, but then stops at Post...the DB webbie lists the Bahnhof/Post stop because it assumes you start at the Bahnhof when you enter "Bamberg". They don't want people hanging around after closing time, so, off go the lights. That sucks about the train. But this particular time is an exceptionally unusual one, because of the construction they're undertaking. No consolation for getting stuck waiting around--especially a couple of hours on the platform in the middle of the night--but this is a crappy time for relying on the trains. Next time, it'll be better. A question not necessarily directed at you, but to anyone here: how does mass transit in Franken compare to elsewhere in Europe? I've had good luck getting around by train & bus nearly everywhere I've been in Europe (though I haven't been to all THAT many different countries), but things seem to run more efficiently in Germany than elsewhere. Then again, I use transit here more than elsewhere, so I'm accustomed to it. That deal at Hoffmanns-Keller is unbelievable. Even the regular price for a Maß and Haxe for 13,90€ is exceptional, for the Annafest. I was surprised by how few beers disappointed this year. Greif was, surprisingly, one of my favourites. Pity that Löwenbräu varies so much.
