Sparklers? (getting more O.T.) |

What about *no* *sparklers*? Norwich isn't that far up North, and if the locally brewed beers are designed (I hate that word) - are brewed to be dispensed without a (tight) sparkler, that's OK for me. And yes, a sparkler can ruin a beer indeed. Other UK beers (West Midlands) are brewed to be dispensed with a sparkler, and do indeed taste better with one. I did a very interesting experiment years ago at the sampling room of Hydes brewery, Manchester - the sparkler DOES make definitely a difference - in the case of Hyde's the beer with sparkler was better for me. I also tried the unfiltered Palm (admitted, OT - it's Belgian) with (as usually presented by Palm itself, e.g. at Bierpassie Weekend) and without a sparkler (by request) - in this case I preferred the version without a sparkler. Many other examples experienced. |
