Mahr's is good, but where this idea came from that it's the "best in the world" --or even in Bamberg-- is mystifying to me. I like it well enough, but it's a bit boring. (Eh, maybe it is the best in Bamberg nowadays.) *German* beer in general is filtered and pumped with CO2, yes. Unfiltered, under gravity, is much more common at the small, traditional Franconian breweries. |
