Wheat Beers - Why Bother? |

If I understand you correctly you’re saying that, at least for you, it’s simply a matter of preference. You prefer the taste of lagered beers over wheat beers and of course that’s perfectly fine. Some folks like chocolate and some prefer vanilla. Neither is right or wrong. My issue with some of the posts here re: wheat beers is that they seem to imply that Franconians either can’t brew palatable wheat beers or that, because the beers are contract brewed by another brewery, they aren’t worth drinking. I’m trying to understand whether or not the “anti-wheats” are purists and for that reason have issue with any contract brewed beer or don’t think Franconians can brew a proper wheat beer or, like yourself, just plain don’t care for wheat beers. |
