Jimbo's Luck
Posted by Nick B. on 2008-06-01 23:25:04
Seems to me that Jimbo has not always had the best of luck with his travels here, or at least his luck has turned a bit bad since meeting me. Like trying to get to places only to have them be closed or something. So yesterday he walked in the hot sun to the famous Witzgall Keller, which is only open Sundays, only to find...wait for it...the place was closed. There was a small fest in Schlammersdorf, so Witzgall were pouring their Landbier there instead. (Prices jacked way up to 4,50€ / Maß!) I eventually met him there and had a good time, especially after the music ended. If I never hear "Country Roads" and "Achy Breaky Heart" by over-amplified guitar/accordian duo again, I'll be happy. The little Italian restaurant on the way to the Bahnhof in Neuses pours a couple of Maisel beers--the Hell was not fresh, but the train was coming, so we didn't try something else. And the young Kurdish guy explained to us that he'll have to find a new beer to pour, since Maisel is closing. (After he thanked us for saving his people from Sadam, of course.) Was a fun day...the Frau & I had made a bike tour up over- and under-hill to Stiebarlimbach before heading to Schl'dorf. The beer there is exceedingly good right now.
