Breweries in Franconia

Eric, without even looking at Beer Me I can tell you the difference is because BM is counting all the small villages that come under, say, Bad Staffelstein as a greater municipality whereas this website lists all the villages separately (the correct way of doing it, I think). It is correct that Bad Staffelstein has no breweries itself but is surrounded by villages that do have breweries. I can think of 7 or 8 without doing any research. Obviously if you go to Bad Staffelstein thinking that you are going to be able to walk around and visit 10 breweries, you will be quite disappointed.
