Nonsmoking in Bamberg |

I'm a bit curious to know if any publican in Franconia has hinted at the possibility to find new customers who like to taste what they drink and eat? If you believe what many of them say, practically all their old customers are smokers and will start drinking at home. Now, according to the German federal drug commissioner, about 25% of Germans are smokers. That leaves 75% who don't smoke and did not frequent bars in the past. A great opportunity, it would seem. In Sweden the smoking ban has been in effect since 1 June 2005. The restaurant trade reports an annual growth of about 8% since then. |
