Vacation apartment (Ferienwohnung) in Bamberg

Same here. My experience is limited to 5 hotels in Oberfranken (Upper Franconia), 3 in Bamberg, and in only one case I had to return my key when I left the hotel - but that hotel had a 24-hour reception. Otherwise I would just keep the key to my room (and for the front door as well) with me all the time. Regarding prices, outside the big cities hotels and apartments are relatively cheap in Germany, but Franconia is even cheaper!
