Price of a 1/2 liter? |

$8.00 a pint in Manhattan is the upper edge and probably for a high alcohol specialty beer. $6.00 a pint is fairly common in NYC though. The most I paid in NYC was $9.00 for a Belgian in Brooklyn, but in Booklyn you can also find micros at $5.00 a pint, but often $5.00 is for a smaller serving (10 ounce) of high alcohol Belgian-style American beers. I live about 2 hours west of NYC in Scranton, a small city of 80,000, in Pnnsylvana. I can get pints of good microbrewery beer around $4.00-5.00, but still being unusual. Mass produced German imports come in about the same. Spaten, Fransiskaner, Hacker Pschor etc are regularly available in seasonal variations. So even with the dollar in the dumps, a half liter in Franconia is still reasonable |
