Weather saturday

I had a nightmarish trip from hell by train from Frankfurt to Bamberg on Sunday, due in part to the rain, and in part to the poor quality of Die Bahn. Tried to connect in Nuremberg. Missed my ICE and the next RE. Skipped a RB. The next RE simply did not show up (there might have been an announcement in German, but I could not understand it). I then asked for help and was told where to go for the next RE. I found the train and boarded. Just before it was going to depart, they announced it was cancelled, and we should go to the next RB (figured this out thanks to another passenger). Got on the RB. Then when it got to Erlangen, there was an announcement in German only that it was the end of the line, and we should board a bus. I asked at Reisezentrum, but no help except that we must go to Forchheim. I gave up and rode a taxi (25 Euros) to Forchheim. Waited a long time for a RB. Got to Bamberg over 3 hours late (6 hours after leaving Frankfurt). Sundays on Die Bahn really suck, esp. with flooding. I am starting to agree with the Swiss that the German rail system is not what it used to be.
