Trains

Are you dead-set on driving? All the places you listed are easy by train, with the exception of the castles, to which you would have to take a bus in addition to a train. With trains, you avoid the stress of driving and obviously don't have to worry about not enjoying a beer or several. And it gets you into the Kultur just a tad bit more, out of the isolation of the inside of an auto. If you've never had a train-based vacation here, I highly, highly recommend it. Otherwise, sounds like a nice trip. I need to get over to Burg Hohenzollern and Lichtenstein myself one of these days...
