| Polster Brau no longer exists in Herzo. Heller is still there though. Veste Coburg is also pretty nice, and if you're in that area anyway, head down towards Lichtenfels and Staffelstein, visit the Vierzehnheilgen church and stop in at the local brewery too, check out Kloster Banz, and so on. Sesslach is a worthwhile stop, a nice low-key alternative to touristy Rothenburg o.d. Tauber. Sesslach also has a genuine old-fashioned "Kommunbrauerei" and Gasthaus Reinwand is a fine place to enjoy the final product. Most important, though: *Franconian* culture. For Bavarian culture, head south or southeast! "Frei, statt Bayern!" |
