| Hello, I was perusing my new (Sept. 2002) issue of Brew Your Own magazine and noticed a couple of articles that might be of interest. The style profile article was on Rauchbier and then there was a feature article titled "The Beers of Franconia". For homebrewers, the 2 articles included a total of six recipes - 4 Rauchbiers (for different levels of brewers), 1 Schwarzbier and 1 Kellerbier. Fred, I'm glad you mentioned this site at BBBB as beers from Franconia are a subject I know almost nothing about and I enjoy learning about any new (to me) beer subject. I believe that the only Franconian beers available in San Antonio,Texas are the Tucher products unless Rauchenfelser Steinbrau and other Sailer products qualify (where is Marktoberdorf?). Well I guess I'll wind this up and get back to those articles to cure a little bit of my ignorance. Brian |
