Yes, I get my VGN pass in lueu of car commute. And I asked if I could get the 'Jahres Abo Plus' which allows additional adult plus 2 bikes / 4 kids / 2 dogs after 19.00 weekdays and all day weekends/public holidays. It's a big benefit (EUR233 per month). I just have to hand in my pass once I think and it's automatically reimbursed each month. I'm actually happier to have this benefit and spend an additional 15 minutes commuting than buying a car, with all the extra things that entails. The trains are improving but the 200 bus coming back to Erlangen is very unreliable and I've missed connetions a few times. There is no reason for this as there is no traffic, it's really infuriating. I have been to Heiligenstadt and Waischenfeld, the former a few times and the latter just once. I may do this this Saturday, it's a bit of a faff but I can catch a bus to Heiligenstadt and then cycle the rest. I will also visit Reichold and possibly Krug and Held though these may be a step too far. The weather is certainly up for it, 23 degrees tomorrow must be some kind of record for March! |
