OT: Bamberger Hörnla

OTOH, as a raised-in-Minnesconsin Yank living in Europe, it's interesting to see the variety of taters sold in green grocers here, compared to the SINGLE, GIGANTIC, BLAND, Idaho variety we had when I was growing up. We get red and blue varieties here as shown in the Peruvian link.i I love Bamberger Hörnla - the potatoes, not the pastry (Gebäck). They are also sold in such far-away, savage lands as Mittelfranken, in organic shops. One of Gerhard's linked photos shows them in very good detail, but makes them look larger than they are: they are thumb-sized. I shall have to try them at Der Pelikan someday, though not with pigmeat.
