| I 'm headed back to Salzburg this October. I checked my notes and I was last there in 2007! I guess it is true, once you're over the hill you pick up speed. The places I liked, in no particular order: Augustiner Mülln -- the three or four times I've been there I've always found the beer to be pretty good. Die Weisse -- I'm not generally a wheat beer person but they do some great ones here. S'Kloane Brauhaus. A tiny brewpub -- beers were mostly good but less than par once. A usual problem with tiny brewpubs (and some larger ones) Out of the city center: Isi Bräu in nearby Bergheim. Another tiny brewpub but the beer was always great. In Siezenheim, the Landgasthof Allerberger -- Restaurant, Hotel, Brewery and Indoor Tennis Center all together. We've managed to always catch the gasthof on Betriebsurlaub so we sit in the bar at the tennis center. |
