Fake Zoiglbier

Barry, if you really really want, I've converted the scanned photo to a PDF document, and because I have Acrobat Pro, I was able to make some of the text searchable (which means it can also be copied and pasted) - but not the text down near the folded crease, as PDF text conversion from images has its limitations. I can send you the text in German to copy into Google Translate at your leisure if you'd like. Even if not all of it converted to text, it's not hard to type the other bits in. The second-to-the-last paragraph includes Norbert Neugirg's take on the subject; on our last stay in Eschawo, we had some Zoigl sessions with Norbert (among others - good memories!), who's super-personable and highly engaging. He's not just half-right on saying that there's emotion involved - Zoigl is about much more than a small-town tradition of communally-brewed beer, and yes, you can't bottle that emotion and ship it 600 km. And we encountered several commercially-brewed beers called Zoigl as well, even in Windischeschenbach, where the local Würth brewery has both a pale and dark Zoigl in its range. They're all right, but nothing compares to a good Zoigl, fresh off the lagering time, bursting with flavor and goodness.
