OT: Kölsch

There is a place in Düsseldorf to compare some Alts in a cross-tasting, but they are all poured as "keg" beers from CO2-driven taps. The pub, Schalander, is nowhere near the Altstadt. Köln's venues are rather more scattered, especially if one chooses to call in at brewpubs like Heller and Braustelle. The best Reissdorf, Unkelbach, place is well outside of the city center in the southwest of the city. Add in Päffgen, Malzmühle, Früh, Sion, the new-ish Gaffel place very close to the main train station, and Schreckenskammer, and you will be wearing out a fair bit of shoe leather, not to mention making good use of the public transport system.
