| Ha-ha -- englischer Humour! Seriously though, I do conform to it, but only through random chance: I don't use any priming sugar for bottling. Though, since it's a "top-fermenting" beer, non-malt sugars *are* allowed under the modern Reinheitsgebot, so I'd be covered anyway. Well, except that I do use 5% Weizenmalz, so I guess it *is* in violation of the version from 1516 (which was actually only in force for a few decades before it was revised to allow herbs and stuff --centuries long-- until it was then re-revised to its more-or-less original state, IIRC). But I don't offer it for sale as "Bier", so it's all moot. (Right?) |
