| Don't people celebrate New Year (Sylvester) in pubs in Franken? I notice that the Eschawo and Neustadt zoiglstubn that normally open Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon are closed tonight. All seems strange to me, I'll be in my local singing songs, playing tunes and singing Auld Lang Syne at Midnight, in a similar way to the rest of Britain and Ireland. Is everyone in Deutschland at home watching 'Dinner for One' (Der 90. Geburtstag)? While I'm at it, may I wish all forum members a Happy and Peaceful New Year - and may we meet in Franken (or the Oberpfalz) in 2013! |
