I have no interest in arguing about this, but when the VGN says "Neu ist in diesem Jahr der Brauereien-Fachwerk-Express..." I take them at their word. I have no interest in trying to prove a negative, i.e., that the 977 did not exist in previous years. If anyone can demonstrate that the 977 or other line running the same route existed prior to this year, I will cheerfully admit that I was wrong in saying this is a new line. And that I was duped by the VGN into thinking so. "Verkehrt jährlich" does not suggest it's been running for any length of time, rather, it just says that it runs yearly. Same goes for the 11.12.2012 publication date -- just shows that it exists now, doesn't say anything about since when. I wouldn't expect the note to say "wird jährlich ab 1.5.2012 verkehren" or something either. I've got nothing to complain about w.r.t. other transit info websites! I just like to point to vgn.de as often as possible for questions about getting around within the VGN area, as it has the most useful info (incl. prices) IMO. And it may also have the most recent updates w.r.t. construction closures and whatnot.
