OT: Sour Deutscher Porter

Had a very good Berliner Weisse from a Swiss micro (Beste) that was called Knut (remember the ice bear cub?) at the Solothurner Biertage back in 2008. What do you mean by artificially soured (re that Deutscher Porter)?
