trains and zoigl

Although the opening dates are posted on the Wind/Neuhaus site (and conveniently displayed outside the information office near the centre of the town), one thing that is not immediately apparent is the location of the individual zoigl houses. Most of these are tucked away in side streets and not too well signposted. If you are travelling by train (and it's a very pleasant journey, as the Vogtlandbahn trains are excellent), it's a bit of a hike uphill from the station to the town centre (takes 15 - 20 minutes). Give yourself a bit of time for orientation, although anyone can tell you the location of the bars. The walk from Wind to Neuhaus involves very steep hills, and you certainly appreciate a zoigl when you climb up into Neuhaus. The most comprehensive guide to the zoigl experience, in my opinion, is that provided by the late John White on his 'Beer Travels' page. I think that it's still there, as the site is maintained by his estate but, if you can't find it, let me know and I'll email you a copy.
