| I was also mystified by your original claim of not liking lagers. I had visions of you only drinking Hefeweizens your entire trip. Now I understand better. I really liked the breweries in Merkendorf. You might get lucky and find Hummel's Rauchbier or Rauchbock available. I think you will like both. I also like Möchsambach, but I am not sure their famous Lager is for you since it is not overly malty and has a fair amount of hops. Same goes for Brauerei Witzgall in Schlammersdorf, which I would recommend to anyone who likes a good Franconian Landbier (lager). Also in this category would be Brauerei Griess in Geisfeld - excellent Kellerbier. Cheers |
