| A slightly less frivolous answer to what is I suspect, a serious enquiry,Last year I used taxis in the area around bamberg,A lot of the drivers have a basic grasp of english,are on the most part fairly helpfull.As for getting a taxi to return for you ,that is not quite so reliable,(and more expensive)far better to ask the waiter/waitress/owner,to phone for a taxi,I have what i call"gasthaus german"and have managed well to get taxis.and of course,it usually turns out that at least one member of staff at the brewery/guesthouse,speaks embarassingly good english!! so Andy i would have no worrys about using taxis in and around bamberg.as others have suggested here,if you learn to ask for the taxi in german this will be helpull,and write the name of your destination on a piece of paper,that way there will be no trouble with pronounciation. cheers! |
