I let a new British-brewed 3.5% Bud Light pass my lips in the Margate Spoons last month. It was...bland. It seemed less nasty than American (original) Bud Light, which I think is 4.5% or something. Anyway, I've been a r8beer user for many years, though I don't rate beers. I use it for the discussion forums and as a massive database for beer. It's a bizarre turn of events, kind of like when AB bought a homebrewing supply company a year or two ago. Good for Joe the owner, I say -- hope he got a big fat check out of the deal. (Never met him, seems a nice guy online.) Whenever any of these microbreweries get bought up by AB or Heineken, I say that I would tattoo "BUD ROOLZ!!!" across my forehead for a billion dollars. I'd sell them my 22-litre nano-home-brewery for considerably less. I'm not above selling out. The prices would be higher if I had to actually drink their beer though. |
