If that isn't apocryphal, I don't know what is!  As I said, in the days in the UK when I ate such things, I'm sure that there was salad etc - current British residents will have a better idea.  But, anyway, it's not really the point. I didn't know that you were such an avid believer of the media. You'll be telling me next that German TV is better than British!
