| Jason, I could not agree more - such wisdom from one so young! (sorry). I like to read people's opinions - so I can then disagree with them, no, sorry, to give me some idea of what to expect. I don't know how many beer ratings I have read that I disagree with but I'm still happy to have them. Goeller Drosendorf is a good example - no one seems to rate it very highly but there is an excellent recent review from Norbert Krines on Facebook (and he has tasted more different beers than most of us can dream of), which highlights the subtlety of the Helles - it's not spectacular but an excellent example of a standard Franken beer from a very good and hospitable pub. In fact, just the opposite from that experienced in more noted pubs, including some rated as 'the best in the world'. |
