| So after all that planning of approximately 35 breweries to visit yesterday afternoon, we made it to exactly one (1), Schwanen Bräu in Ebing. Well, "we" being me and the Jungkellerhund, that is, whereas Jackie, Barry and Jürgen made it to two (2). Seems the majority of the breweries just north of Bamberg are all on holiday or have Montag Ruhetag. But the session at Schwanen Bräu was great: the copper-coloured, malty yet dry --the way it should be-- Vollbier (?) was very moreish, to the tune of 4 Seidla over 3 hours. I'd only been once before, many years ago, but could recall the beer being exactly so nice. Puppy-dog wasn't so enamoured of the massive Schwemme though, apparently being spooked by people coming and going through the long corridor. |
