For years, I've been flying to Munich airport, catching the metro downstairs, riding into the city and then, often, making a mad dash from the metro beneath the main train station to a train waiting to leave just before I reach it. There is another way. There is a bus (number 635) that stops at both terminals at the airport and then heads to the small town of Freising, which sits almost next to the airport. Freising has a train station. Although the service is not as frequent as Munich, there are trains that will connect up with the rest of the network. I believe that holders of a Bayern Ticket can use that on this bus (after 09:00). I'll find out for sure tomorrow morning. This bus runs every 20 minutes. It starts at 04:55 and runs until 0:55 the next morning. You can get the full schedule here: http://www.hez.wzw.tum.de/fileadmin/user_upload/Downloads/Fahrplan_Buslinie_635.pdf |
