When I posted "at least three hours" above, that was based on www.vgn.de, and I assumed it was through Nürnberg. But looking again, I see that's through either Forchheim or Erlangen, still at least 3 hours round trip. Alex, you won't get price info from the national rail website bahn.de or bahn.com because the region is under the jurisdiction of the Nürnberg mass transit district, whose webbie is www.vgn.de.
